The chiropractic physician suffering from 14 to 15 migraines per month
October 13th, 2011 - Posted by drpnutterI am 50 years old and have been in private practice for 26 years. The day I turned 40, I experienced my first migraine.
At 41, I was having 14 to 15 migraines per month. I am a chiropractor, so I did not want to take medication. The problem was the migraines lasted 12 hours and I had to be lying down in a dark room. When I started missing 2-3 days per week of work, I needed to seek help with medication.
I had a neurologist friend that gave me Maxalt. This was a miracle drug for me. Feel the migraine coming on, take a Maxalt and in 20 minutes, no more migraine.
I worked on trying to figure out triggers, but nothing really worked in reducing the number of migraines per month. However, something extraordinary happened 3 years ago. I was diagnosed with Celiac’s disease and had to go on a gluten free diet. Well, my migraines are not gone but I only have 1-2 migraines per month. It feels amazing to have the burden of multiple cluster migraines to finally be gone!

"I had my first migraine when I was 12. I thought I was going blind, the spots in my vision all grouped together and everything went black. The pain was intense and felt like my head would crack open above my right eye."
