About Dr. Traci Purath, MD
Dr. Traci Purath is a practicing neurologist and Medical Director of the Comprehensive Headache Center in Racine, Wisconsin. Her practice is part of the Wheaton Franciscan Health Care system. Dr. Purath completed her medical training at the National University of Dublin in Ireland and was a resident in neurology and medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
An accomplished teacher, Dr. Purath is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin where she has been honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award. She also won the Excellence in Teaching Award in six consecutive years while teaching in the All Saints family practice residency program.
Dr. Purath prides herself in providing an integrative approach to patient care as highlighted in this recent article in the BizTimes. She also won the Milwaukee Business Times “2010 Healthcare Hero” award.
Dr. Purath has been the Primary or Co-Investigator on numerous clinical studies in the field of migraine, seizures, epilepsy and stroke and has been featured in magazines such as Women’s Day and on television shows such as Good Morning America. She has also addressed the Sate Legislature of Wisconsin on the under-diagnosis and treatment of migraine.
