Feel Better Emotionally When Migraine Drags You Down
I know I don't have to tell you how easy it can be to get wrapped up in our own struggles with Migraine and forget all about the good in the world.
I know from firsthand experience that my soul feels less burdened when I seek out stories of good and uplifting ideas in the world. But it's not always easy to reframe my negative thinking, especially during the toughest times. It helps me to have a collection of sites in mind to turn to when I'm struggling. With this in mind, here are some of my favorite places online to find uplifting stories and photos.
Uplifting and/or Happy Websites:
- Karen Salmansohn's Not Salmon site & projects - http://notsalmon.com/
Karen has such a great way with words and images. She bills her ideas as "self help for people who wouldn't be caught dead doing self-help." The label of self-help definitely carries a stigma. If you're someone who's turned off by it, this is a great option for you.
- Today Good News - http://www.today.com/id/41743465/
A section of the website for NBC's morning news show Today is dedicated to good news stories shared on the program. Some are more cheesy, while others are incredibly touching. They've got you covered no what which you prefer.
- Happier - https://www.happier.com/
If you like the idea of a social community of other people focused on looking for the happy moments in their lives, the free Happier website and/or app is perfect for you.
- Live Life Happy - http://www.livelifehappy.com/
I just love the empowering and uplifting quotes and messages shared on this website. They also have a Facebook page you can follow if you like.
- Cute Overload - http://cuteoverload.com/
For my taste you just can't beat adorable photos of animals to get out of a funky mood. If you're anything like me, you'll love this site.
- Buzzfeed Animals - http://www.buzzfeed.com/animals
Finally, here's another fantastic animal-focused collection. There are many adorable and uplifting photos and videos to be found here. For starters, check out this video of a baby elephant being reunited with his dad: http://www.buzzfeed.com/maycie/elephant-family-reunion-hugs-video-addo-park. What a beautiful family!
