Like there is no true relief in sight. I sit in a dark room with sunglasses on or a mask. Migraines, are black with red hot pain, paralyzing, and a thief of everything I love.

pain, and each & every one of the attributes listed below. isolated, mean, useless, no control, frustrated. The hardest part is that your family can’t see the pain and don’t understand it. Even though they doh’t understand the pain and how it changes your personality, they love me. Knowing how hard it is for my family makes me feel even worse sometimes.
I have found relpax to sometimes be effective in aborting a migraine. If it comes on too fast, I use a compression shot (air, not needle) of sumavel. This triptan also seems to help. It does hurt a bit.
Don’t use the fentanly patch. It is 80 to 100 times stronger than morphine and I literally went crazy on it after only 48 hours-very dangerous.
Currently, my doctor has me on a combo of dexamethasone, methadone & lyrica. The dexamethasone side effects are too much. I don’t recommend it. I will let you all know how the lyrica works. So far, lyrica alone or methadone alone do not control the pain. Does anyone have any thoughts on Lyrica? Methadone?
I would love a nice herbal, homeopathic remedy, but haven’t found anything that works yet.
I have been diagnosed with neurological, as opposed to vascular, migraines. Has anyone been told that?

There are herbal remedies, but they don’t necessarily work for everybody. Then again, name one med that does work for everybody. I know of a few people who use Migravent and are pretty happy with their results. It is an herbal mix of ingredients that some migraineurs are deficient in, plus some basically healthy herbs for migraines.

    Good luck!

Drained and isolated. They take a lot out of you and so do the meds. And although people mean well, all you can tolerate is no noise, light, sound or smell!

When you are in so much pain, I truly believe that it’s nearly impossible to be yourself. I know my husband means well when he constantly checks on me and wants me to eat, but after I growl a couple of times he gets the point and leaves me alone. You are not being mean, Jennifer, you are in horrible pain and trying to survive. At lease that’s how it feels for me. Blessings to you. Lily ~*
