Migraine Education Event in Chicago – Register Now!

Learning about Migraine is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. The more we know, the better prepared we are to work with our doctors as treatment partners and take part in important decisions regarding our treatment.

If you live in the Chicago area, there’s an excellent educational opportunity coming up this Saturday, June 25, and it’s not too late to plan to attend. The National Headache Foundation (NHF) is holding a series of regional meetings for educational purposes this year, called Bridging the Gap Between Patient & Clinician. There’s a morning session for doctors and other medical professionals who want to learn more about Migraine and other headache disorders and an afternoon session for patients.

Since this weekend’s event is in time for National Migraine Awareness Month, the keynote speaker will be Serene Branson, who has partnered with the NHF for this year’s awareness month campaign, More Than Just a Headache. You may remember Ms. Branson from earlier this year when she experienced a Migraine with severe aphasia while reporting on the Grammy Awards.

The schedule for the afternoon is:

Doctors and other medical professionals who are interested in the morning CME session, can find more information or register through the NHF registration page.

The NHF will also be holding their annual fund raising gala after the conference at the Art Institute of Chicago. The evening will include cocktails, light dinner, music, a silent auction, a car auction, and art gallery viewing. For more information or for tickets to the gala, see the NHF fund raising event page.

Although I don’t live in the Chicago area, I’m excited to be attending the patient conference and the gala. If you make it, please find me so we can meet!

The Migraine community needs a program like the MIT Opencourseware. Where medical professionals could share their knowledge to the rest of the world for free.
