Research: How do you know if a medication is working for you?

The constant struggle to find the “right” medication is one of the most frustrating aspects of living with a condition like migraine. Some people are able to manage without any (or many) medications, while others feel like they’re on an endless cycle of trial and error. The decision to try, switch, stop, or avoid treatments is very personal.

We often read about the research studies used by healthcare professionals to determine if a medication is effective, but as people living with migraine – how do you yourself determine if a medication is working or not? We are looking to learn from you what aspects of medication results in satisfaction, as well as why you may have stopped medications or switched to others.

We are surveying our Migraine, RA, and MS communities to learn firsthand how patients determine if their medication is working, as well as other hurdles and triumphs in their treatment journey. We’d be so grateful if you’d take 10 minutes to answer our short survey – you will not be asked specifically which brands of medication(s) you are using, nor will we try to sell you any medications!
