Pain on one side of the head

Welcome to the Pain on one side of the head Forum

  1. Lisa,

What has your doctor said? You do NOT have to live like this. There are many possible treatments these days.

    1. Is this also a feature of a standard migraine? It sure is of what I have, which is called a "Cluster Headache." Lots of good painkillers out there. Plus get a neurologist to do an MRI to be sure it isn't something else.

      1. Cluster Girl,

If you go to the tabs at the top of the page, you can read all about Migraine symptoms, triggers etc. It is not uncommon for Migraine to be misdiagnosed as Cluster Headache, and vice versa, so it's the smart patient who really becomes educated in both so they can help their doctors diagnose and treat their disease appropriately.

        1. I have been a migraine sufferer for years. Here lately it seems as if they are changing tho. Recently I have been getting sharp stabbing pains on one or the other side of my head. It has been one of them things it hurts intensly for 5-10 min then goes away for awhile. however it has been pretty steady for the last 3-4 days. Now this morning I wake up and can feel Im on the verge of major migraine. Im hoping that my naratriptan will help before it imobilizes me. I have never had symptoms like this starting me out. Im not sure what to do about it. While I cant say I enjoy any part of a migraine at least before this new stuff started I knew what I was watching for and how to cope with it. Any suggestions on what may be going on and how to deal with it?
