Hi there, I am about to get botox injections for the first time tomorrow. I am PETRIFIED! I have a fear of needles- and have little tolerance to the pain of injections(though you would think that compared to migraine pain this would be a peice of cake). Does each injection hurt? Does it go in deep? Are each injection brief in duration as there are 40 shots they tell me....please respond as soon as possible! Also any side effects like immediate migraine afterwards?

You sound EXACTLY like me the first time I did. I actually JUST did it for the second time last Thursday, I'm glad I got this in time!! My biggest fear was that I would be paralyzed lol. So, the second time it was about forty injections but he did it a little differently-- he focused on my spots that more frequently are in pain. I'm sure allll doctors do it somewhat differently but my first time I swear it was like 100 injections with six very small needles.. It didn't go in deep and each injection was extremely brief.. he went from one site to the other to the other to the other so fast... I didn't have any side effects except that my face felt kind of like what you would expect it to feel like after you got botox.. I got it (the first time at least) on my forehead, temples, cheeks, other parts of face, scalp, neck, and shoulders. My face felt exactly what you would think it would lol.. like funny like "paralyzed" but that went away very quickly. I will be honest. I am not afraid of needles and I am SO used to them because of IV's and the needles ARE VERY tiny BUT I didn't realize HOW sensitive my head, face and scalp was and it did hurt more than I expected it would.. you have a higher pain tolerance than you think if your a migraine sufferer though... and the first time hurt less than the second for some reason? Idk I cried the second time. I am really NOT trying to scare you I'm just trying to be honest because I didn't have anyone telling me what to expect!
