Frova Side Effects

Frova Side Effects: an introduction

As with any medicine, Frova can cause side effects. Generally, Frova is tolerated well by most people. Even when taking different doses, most of the adverse effects are mild, don’t last long, and cause no lasting problems. However, Frova can cause extremely rare but serious side effects involving your heart, including heart attack or stroke. These types of problems have generally occurred in people who already had coronary artery disease when they took the drug.

Before you use Frova, tell your doctor if you:

– Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant

– Are breast-feeding or plan to nurse your baby

– Have any history of chest pain, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations

– Have any risk factors for heart disease including:

  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Liver disease
  • High cholesterol
  • Overweight
  • Smoking
  • A family history of heart disease
  • Menopause
  • Male over 40 years old

– Are taking other medicines, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, and herbal supplements

– Have any past or present medical problems

– Have previous allergies to any medicine

If you have any of these conditions or if any of these circumstances describe you, you may need to have special tests to safely use Frova.

You should not take Frova if you have:

  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Heart disease or a history of heart disease
  • Hemiplegic migraine or basilar migraine (if you are not sure about this, ask your doctor)
  • Had a stroke
  • Circulation (blood flow) problems
  • Taken a similar drug (triptan) or ergotamine type medicine within the last 24 hours.
  • Any allergic reaction to the tablet
