Frova Uses

Frova is Used to Treat a Migraine Attack

Frova is used to treat migraine attacks in adults. A migraine is typically described as a headache disorder that causes symptoms beyond what might be considered normal including throbbing, nausea, and sensitivity to light, sound, or odors. Frova is only used once a headache has started and does not work for migraine prevention or controlling how often a migraine might occur.

Frova is not intended to prevent a migraine headache or to treat hemiplegic migraine (a headache with stroke-like symptoms of extreme muscular weakness or paralysis) or basilar migraine (migraine with throbbing pain at the back of the head). The safety and effectiveness of Frova have not been established for cluster headaches, which affect mainly older adult men.
