Can you have stomach migraine?

I used to have migraines that just affected one side of my head. As I have got older, these are rare but I do have terrible cramps in my stomach from time to time when I get stressed. Could this be a migraine but affecting my stomach or is it IBS instead? Thank you

  1. I've been suffering from intense abdominal cramping and urethral burning and I thought it might be abdominal migrains but whenI take my migrain pill sumitritain it doesn't help with the pain at all so don't think that's what this is. I don't know about yours sorry your in pain

    1. Hi 1rkxc84,

Thank you for your question. Acephalgic, or silent migraine can present like a migraine attack without the headache phase. You can read more about that here; https://migraine.com/?s=acephalgic+migraine&submit=Go.

I wish I could tell you whether or not this was a migraine attack or IBS, but only your doctor can do that. I would encourage you to have a conversation with him/her to figure out what is going on.

      Please keep us posted,
      Nancy
