Treating migraine with congenital long QT syndrome?

I have Congenital Long QT Syndrome. It's a heart rhythm disorder that is affected by a lot of medications. Does anyone treat their migraines with this disorder and what works for you, for your migraines, that doesn't disrupt your heart rhythm? My neurologist can't seem to find me anything to use.

  1. Hi Katrinadenver,

Don't lose hope! There are over 100 medications, devices and supplements that can be used to treat migraine disease. Let me share this article with you to start you off; https://migraine.com/blog/migraine-preventives-start/.

When we have more than one disease, and/or disorder, it's a good idea to see an expert who may be better equipped to handle "complicated" patients. These expert doctors may be different from neurologists in that they have extra certification in migraine/headache disease. I'm currently seeing my 5th true expert and am making progress. You can find these experts here; http://www.ucns.org/globals/axon/assets/12884.pdf.

I'm sure others will be along soon to share their experiences with you.

Wishing you a low pain day,
    Nancy
