Zolmitriptan is a migraine drug and should be taken a maximum of 10 times a month. I take it every 24 hours. Right now it is putting me at a slightly increased risk of stroke and it is less likely to work effectively. I used to just take it when I had a migraine, or could feel one coming. But then the frequency of my migraines increased. I started waking up with migraines and medicating immediately and now I take it first thing in the morning when I wake up. Otherwise I start the day with nausea and head pain.
So, has this happened to anyone else? My dr isn't overly worried about it, but they have recommended that I take it less. I've tried over and over, but failed. Has anyone else been through this because I feel pretty scared and stuck at this point. what should I do?
