Long Term Disability Insurance?

So I've suffered with chronic migraine for about ten years now. In the last year it's actually gotten much much more manageable, but I'm haunted by the very real possibility that this will probably be with me the rest of my life and at a certain point there's a good chance it will force me out of full time work. So I'm trying to be proactive and look into long term disability insurance in case I find myself in that situation, preferably private because I don't see myself with the same employer years down the road.

Any tips? Experiences? Who do you recommend? What do you pay? Etc.

  1. darcyshirley, thank you for reaching out! I'm glad to hear your migraine symptoms have become more manageable of late, but also that you are being proactive in thinking ahead to possibly needing long-term care insurance. I hope others will chime in with their experiences and what policies they have found beneficial.
