The severity and frequency of my migraines are increasing, what should I do?

  1. An increase in severity and/or frequency in migraines can be startling and upsetting to experience. There are many reasons this could be happening. Changes in hormones, environment, sleep or eating patterns, or your system could be growing accustomed to medication over time, just to name just a few. It's key at such a juncture to reach out to your doctor for an evaluation and to reassess your treatment plan. If you don't already have a migraine specialist, this might be a great time to connect with someone who is specially trained in the field of migraine. This article has a link that can help you find specialists near you: https://migraine.com/blog/looking-for-a-migraine-specialist/. Thanks so much for reaching out and I hope you and your doctor can find some relief for you soon. Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    1. I am sorry to hear that. I agree with Holly. I would definitely try to find a specialist near you.
I would also start journaling what you eat, how much you sleep, how much you exercise, your hormone stages, and even the weather. Try to find a common ground that might be causing the increase of headaches. I wish the best of luck to you and hope that you are able to find a solution.

      1. I have had migraines since July 20, 1969. They have gotten worse in the last few years. Most triggers are what I eat or meds. I recently found out that I have a latex allergy and the lipid transfer protein food list is quite long. Stopping all those foods helped. I think it's been around for years but my reaction wasn't so bad and I couldn't detect it until it got worse. So, yes, my reactions have gotten worse. No idea why.
