Hi, new to the community

Hi everyone.

I'm new here, although unfortunately not new to headaches at all. I've had them for over 25 years. I've been seen by a neurologist all of this time and as of this week, she wants to take me off of the one medicine that seems to work for me (Topamax). It took my former neurologist (she retired) years to find what worked for me and now the new one wants to wean me off because I've had a serious bout of kidney stones this last year. I understand, but I'm afraid! She also doesn't totally agree with the original diagnosis of ice pick headaches.

She's giving me two months to get off of the Topamax, and is calling this "slow". This just terrifies me!

Please help! I just can't deal with these headaches...they are awful!
