What helped this migraine sufferer and maybe it could help you!

So I have been suffering from migraines since I was a teen. Thanks mom for the part you played in my genetics that opened that door for me ;) So when I was in high school I would get a few a month (typically around my period or high stress times). However, during college I began to get them about 3-5 times per week. I also had horrible anxiety and really crazy high stress levels (all thanks to my perfectionist self and placing unrealistic expectations on myself). I tried a lot of things mostly medications that gave me horrible rebound headaches and made me feel awful for a long time. I am incredibly sensitive to medications especially anything with caffeine in it (the caffeine helps the migraine if I took it in time but then the rebound came and the anxiety along with it!) So I went to a "natural doctor" (He was an MD for many years but switched to this). Yes I feel like I am hearing everyone groan at that word but stick with me! So I was completely unhopeful about this and so was my wallet (since insurance doesn't cover a penny of natural stuff). Well, he explained to me that my hormones were all out of balanced from the constant stress levels and he prescribed me progestone cream. He informed me it would help with my anxiety and migraines and over time it actually did! I currently only get 2-3 migraines a month (stress and period) and I couldn't be more thankful for that doctor and that cream. Not saying it could work for everyone but I am saying it would be worth looking into if, like me, you didn't have other options and was willing to try "something else." It wasn't a miracle cure, it didn't stop the symptoms immediately. I have been taking it for over a year and a half and it took about a year for the migraines to only be more hormonal than anything. I felt like this was worth sharing even if it helps one of you! Try to locate someone who is willing to prescribe the progesterone cream from a compounding pharmacy! Maybe it will help you like it did me!

On a side note: After migraines does anyone ever get really bad anxiety attacks? I can't find this much when I search it but I struggle with that in the postdrome phase. Just wanted to know if I was the only one with that symptom! If you do have that symptom does anything help with the anxiety? Thanks!
