Late in life start

I started getting migraines when I was 38 or 39. My mother has had them since a young teen. I have to take a generic imitrex because my insurance won't allow for brand. They will only cover 9 pills per month. I work full time and usually have to work one or two days with a migraine. I do not vomit, but have a lot of pain in temple area. It changes sides in every headache.

I usually wake up with them. I can take one pill to last all day but have to take another in the morning. My doctor has mentioned going on daily mess to lessen amounts of headaches. I don't like the idea of taking meds! Especially when I hear the meds are usually antidepressants. My mom has been doing that and now she is dependent on them. And she still gets migraines.
