Living with migraines every single day

My name is Nanci, I am 41 and I have chronic migraines.

I started having migraines at the age of 9 years old. As i got older the migraines got worse. I never knew it was migraines until February 2004 in Iraq when the neurologist told me that I have chronic severe migraines and started me on Imitrex.

Now I see my neurologist once every three months and I am so happy that I have some control of my mirgraines. Other people are not as blessed! We need to spread awareness and have people see the doctor to hepl them control their migraines.

You can live with migraines and have a normal life its all about taking control not letting migraines controling you!

I am one of the not so lucky ones to suffer daily with chronic migraines. I have recently been awakened daily at 4 a.m. with severe migraines. This is s new symptom for me. The suffering I endure daily has taken control of my life. I try really hard not to let migraines control me, but it is difficult. My day revolves around my migraines. Living this way is a daily struggle. My neurologist have no other treatments or medications to offer due to also suffering with fibromyalgia, depression and anxiety which are all connected.Even writing this I struggle to find words to put in this post. I can’t stand it. But, I will not give up even though I want to throw in the towel many days I will not let my condition define who I am. I am strong, loving, a mother/wife, sister, and daughter. I hold on to all of those titles because migraines can make you fell less than everything your life is.
