My Story

I previously wrote about the weather affecting my migraines, but after reading the other stories I would Like 2 add this: I am 59 yrs old & the older I get the worse they are. When Hurricane Mathew came 2 Fla, I had 2 go 2 the Dr. & he gave me a shot (I don’t remember i’s name) & it helped with in 30 min. I Wish I had kept the receipt b/c if it ever gets that bad again, I will ask 4 it.

    Hi 20mari3ll3n16,

We’re glad that you’re part of the community, thanks for sharing your question.

    Common injections include:
    Imitrex/Zembrace (sumatriptan succinate)
    D.H.E.45 (dihydroergotamine mesylate)
    Demerol (meperidine HCL)
    Toradol (ketorolac)

You can either talk to your doctor and have him recommend a treatment plan that can be followed if you have to visit the ER. The drug that was administered is a matter of your record, and if you call the medical records department of your hospital you can ask them the name of the medication if you know the treatment date. You may need to fill out a form, but they should be able to tell you.

Hope that helps! -All Best, Donna ( team)
