Migraine Infusion Story

I have suffered with severe migrines since the age of 11- I am now 59. There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING I have not tried. Countless medications at the onstart of pain, countless preventive medication, elimating all alcohol and watching what I eat.

I tried acupuncture, bio feedback, botox you name it, I've tried it. I am under the care of a wonderful doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale AZ. He recently suggested I have what they call an infusion. For 3 days in a fow I had to go to Mayo for this "infusion" I takes about 1 1/2 hrs. per day. I had this treatment the last 3 days of March and I have NOT had a headache since. All of you that suffer like I do, I suggest you discuss this with you doctor. I was told: it might not work and if it did there is no set time as to how long it will last. The treatment is on the expensive side however my insurance covers 80% of it.

The treatment is a combination of the following: decadron, toradol, ativan and benadryl. They come in what looked like a "cansiter" to me. They put the IV in my arm and they slowly infustion the canister into the IV-

All I can say is it is worth a try as FINALLY something has releived my pain.
