Always check celiac diseases

I’m doing so much better. I completely forgot about this website. I was diagnosed three years ago with celiac disease after having migraines my whole life and had a very rough 11 months in 2014. I went gluten free and no migraines for 3 years and I have been off topamax for three years which had its own horrible side effect. Please if you have migraines go get a test for celiac disease. It is the number one symptoms and the most undiagnosed disease

    1. I was diagnosed with celiac disease three years ago and I rarely have a migraine now. It is something that people should be aware of. I had migraines for thirty years and it's so much better having fewer migraines now.

      1. wow, what an incredible turnaround. It's interesting because there are quite a few people that find relief in both the intensity as well as the frequency of migraine attacks after they remove gluten from their diet. Not all of them have celiac, but perhaps a sensitivity to it, that impacts migraine.


        How are you doing with a gluten free diet now? Have you felt any other help benefits since going gluten free? Thankfully there are so many more GF food options available now, even in restaurants too.

    2. Thank you for sharing! How are you doing managing celiac disease? Was there a steep learning curve, so to speak?
      There was a small study showing people with Celiac disease had a higher occurrence of migraine disease and I know a number of people who have both diseases. As if one chronic condition isn't enough!!
