Botox for Migraines

I’m just looking into different ways that can help migraines. I suffered badly two years ago (I had migraines everyday for nine months after having my son - possibly hormone related) and have recently started suffering again after a whiplash injury. Has anyone tried Botox for migraine relief? I’ve seen mixed reviews online.

  1. Hi ,

Me again!! I replied to you in another thread about Botox, but wanted to add my two cents about hormonal migraine, I hope that's OK!

There is a long acting triptan called Frova, that many women find helpful during menses to help prevent migraine attacks. It's taken a few days before and during menses and you can find more information on that here; https://migraine.com/blog/short-term-option-for-migraine-prevention-frova/. Even though it's an older article, this information still holds true. May be worth a conversation with your doctor?

Let me know what you think,
