bowen technique

I AM 45 YEARS OLD AND SUFFER FROM MIGRAINES FOR AS LONG AS AI CAN REMEMBER, FROM MY TEEN YEARS. OVER TIME THE MIGRAINES CHANGED LASTING UP TO 3 DAYS EACH EPISODE ESPECIALLY DURING MENSTRUAL MIGRAINES. I TRIED MANY ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES AND THE ONE WHO HELPED ME LESSEN THE SYPTOMS AND MADE ENORMOUS DIFFERENCE WAS THE BOWEN THERAPY, I DID 7 SESSIONS WITH THE THERAPIST. I AM WRITING THIS BECAUSE AS A MIGRAINE SUFFERER I WANT TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM. GIVE IT A TRY, I DID IT AND THE DIFFERENCE WAS HUGE.

  1. Hi charisa,

Thank you for sharing your story and tips with us! I'm thrilled you've found something that helps.

Something else that may be helpful, especially for menstrual migraine is Frova, a triptan. It's taken in a specific way for this type of migraine attack. Let me share that information with you here; https://migraine.com/blog/short-term-option-for-migraine-prevention-frova/.

I hope this helps! Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

    1. My son suffered from what I now think may have been abdominal migraines, along with chronic fatigue. We used Bowen Therapy, although I was very sceptical. I certainly found it quite difficult to understand, however, the talking with the therapist did seem to help. My son suffered all the way through school, eventually having to be home schooled with tutors. As soon as he left school his symptoms vanished. So certainly think the therapy helped him.

      1. Hi HeatherAnne,

Good to hear your son's symptoms have let up - that must be a relief for you. It's awful to see our children, however old they are, to be in pain.

Thank you for sharing that with us!

Wishing you both a low pain day,
        Nancy
