Can anyone help me???

Hi everyone

I'm 27 and I've suffered with migraines since the age of 6. Since 2005 they have been chronic, EVERYDAY! I go to sleep and wake up with it everyday. The only Doctor willing to stay and offer me any relief retired in November and now I have no one! I can't take the pain and I'm losing my morale! I don't have the energy to keep looking for a doctor to help. I'm so sick of the run around endless cycle. Neuro has no idea what to do so they say it's hormonal and I need to see endocrine. Endocrine has no idea so they say go to pain management. Pain management doesn't treat migraines so I need to see neuro..... Meanwhile I'm still suffering day in and day out! Can anyone refer a doctor in the northern NJ area PLEASE!!! I'm so desperate!

  1. I don't know how easy it is for you to get into NYC but I see Dr. Marianna Yugrakh at Columbia and she's amazing. I've also heard great things about the other doctor in the practice, Denise Chou. I also have a constant, intractable migraine and while we haven't been successful in breaking it she has helped reduce the pain significantly and always reminds me that there are more things we haven't tried yet. Best of luck!

    1. THANK YOU! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! You have no idea what this means to me! Thank you so much joanieb. I don't know what to say.... I've wrestled with the idea of actually submitting a post here for such a long time and I finally got up the nerve to do so and ..... Thank you so much! And a very big THANK YOU to the migraine.com creators and the entire community.... Just reading other people's stories and articles it really helps in a way that you can't really understand unless you've experienced it yourself. This site has really helped me so much, just to know that there are actually other people out there that are going through the exact same thing as I am. So, thank you so much!!!!

      1. You're welcome! I also find a lot of comfort in sites like this, so I'm glad to return the favor when I can. If you go to Columbia please let me know how it goes!
