Cant wait for the paint to come...

Im in my second day of very intense aura. I hate it with a passion!
Seeing flashing lights, being totally exhausted, pain in my neck, depersonalization, feeling depressed, confusing right and left hand trying to write on my computer, face numbness and that awfull taste in my right side of the mouth.
I cant wait for the pain! Please bring it on so I can face it and get a short relief after that before the next cykle begins.

My migraines have been extreme and showing new sides since I had my baby 3 months ago. I am not a great mom during the days I have to deal with these migraines. It makes me sad! And scarred, the aura is truly frightening at times.

  1. Hi Malin,

First let me congratulate you on your baby - congratulations! Having a newborn is hard enough, but adding migraine to the mix can make is seem impossible. I found having a support network really helpful after I had my children. Do you have one? Many mothers, myself included, struggle with being a 'good' mom during attacks. I know there have been times I should have asked for help but that is not one of my fortes. Here's the thing -we can only do our best - try not to put too much pressure on yourself. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need to.

I'd like to share a bit of information on motherhood and migraine if I may? https://migraine.com/blog/tips-survive-early-years-parenthood-live-chronic-migraine/ and https://migraine.com/blog/how-can-i-keep-parenting-during-a-migraine/.

You mentioned your attacks have changed a bit since having your baby. Have you mentioned this to your doctor? The general rule of thumb is when we have new and/or different symptoms or patterns to our attacks, we need to let our doctor know so he can rule out anything serious.

Let me know how you're doing,
    Nancy

    1. Thank you!

First of all it should be pain and not paint 😀Wrote that during an attack...

I will read up on those links. I recently moved so I am trying to find a new neurologist. My GP ran alot of tests an basically offered me botox. Unfortunayely I dont have anyone nearby that can help, everyone is working.
I dont know if It's hormones or the lack of sleep but everything with the migraines are more intense now.

      1. Hi Malin,

No worries, I knew you meant pain not paint! It's not uncommon to feel depressed, anxious, irritable and moody (among other things) during a migraine attack. Sometimes life is tough and migraine can certainly complicate things.

Let me give you some information on migraine experts. These doctor are different from neurologists because they have extra board certification in headache medicine. These articles have information on how these doctors are different and how to find one; https://migraine.com/blog/how-are-migraine-specialists-different/ and https://migraine.com/blog/looking-for-a-migraine-specialist/.

        Hang in there !
