Craniosacral Therapy?

Hoping someone can provide me some sort of advice on massage? I found after starting Botox my immediate "pain" is less but other symptoms are stronger for me (nausea, aura, muscular pain etc). I'm fine with this b/c it allows me to get more work done, however my main complaint is that myself, like most have migraines concentrated on one side of my head and now have constant muscular pain between my ear/temple on my right side. I try to do pressure point massage but I feel like this area is just waiting to flare up to a full blown migraine. My migraines never used to be like these and were always more in my temples/all over before. In relation, this is one of my botox spots but my right side has always been my "side" for my headaches so I'm not too concerned its a side effect. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with more intensive scalp massage such as Craniosacral Therapy? I'm thinking about looking seriously for a provider in my area but wondering if another type of massage/specialist could help with this specific muscular pain?

  1. I've not tried this kind of therapy but it intrigues me. I'll look into it further. After my Botox (which didn't help me) I had a super sensitive spot along with a pulling type of pain. It was where one of the injections was done so I suspect it did something to the nerve bundle -- aggravated it. Talk with your Doc that gave you the botox. 😀 Good luck!

    1. Hi there,

I can share with you research done on craniosacral therapy https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2442042/.
I know a chiropractor in California who is very good at this. Hope this helps.

      1. I do a combination of Craniosacral and relaxation massage in each appointment. The CS seems to help me relax and sleep which helps my migraines. I thought it was nuts at first but it really did help. Still have 24/7 migraine but for a day or so after my pain level is lower.

        1. have any of you tried lighting products for your migraines? What have you tried? Have you tried https://liberlight.com/migraine-desk-lamp/
