ER Visit

I haven't been to the E.R. for several months just due to the stigmatism. Yesterday I had a 9 on a scale of 10 nothing I usually used worked. I'm writing this specifically to note the amount of medication I received to still leave the hospital with my migraine (tornado) of a 8. Pheneigan, Decadron, Benadryl, toradol, reglin before receiving dilaudid and Ativan. I used to get druperadrol which worked great but not on the marked any longer. I just long for anything under 5 Pain level which is where I live daily. Trying to get back into the Jefferson Headache Center in Pa. I just needed to vent first time doing this know most of spelling is incorrect please bear with me.

  1. Hi Essence 32,

No worries about venting, we all need to do it from time to time! I'm so very sorry to hear you are having such a hard time right now. As I've frequently said and have experienced, extended pain is frustrating and exhausting.
Not getting relief at the ER is discouraging. You may want to contact your doctor and discuss trying a steroid dose pack to break this current cycle? I've used this before and it occasionally works. When it doesn't I usually head in to my doctors for an IV infusion of magnesium and a few injections of pain relief.

Please let us know how you make out, and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed this cycle breaks soon.

    Nancy
