I am a first time sufferer and currently I just feel so lifeless...
My migraine occurred very suddenly, 10 minutes before o left for work. I've never had a migraine before so I brushed it off as a headache. Two days later it was still here and I couldn't deal with it so I had the next two days off work. I went to the doctor and he prescribed Panadol and bed rest. Two days later it was still there and I went back to the doctor. He prescribed Panadol forte and sunk t so I had the next two days off work. I went to the doctor and he prescribed Panadol and bed rest. Two days later it was still there and I went back to the doctor. He prescribed Panadol forte and some other medication starting with 's' that wasn't effective in helping me.
I went to the emergency doctor a day later with nausea, dehydration from vomiting and severe pain.
I've been back 3 times since as well as having a physio session. Most of my time has been spent in bed, in the dark.
It's been almost three weeks now and I'm worried that a) it's been too long
and b) the doctors aren't taking it seriously enough.
Currently my symptoms are: numbness in both hands (fingers), swishing noise in my ears, left eye has vision problems (blind/black spot), headache, muscle soreness and low appetite.
My question is, is this story relatively common of a migraine? And, I'm not improving, so what is my next step? My friends want me to go to hospital.

  1. I am right there with you. I can't say first time since I think I had a couple 40 years ago, but not sure.
I got my first one 3.5 months ago and it won't go away. Mine has been with me night and day. I go from unbelievable pain, achey joints, weight loss, nausea, tired and depressed to just major pressure and headache. I can't take time off from work, have no sick leave. You are going through the same thing I am. I have been to a few specialists. They have found nothing. I am on topimax, not liking it, I think it is worst than the migraines. From everything I am reading and seeing, no cure for migraines, no one knows why they occur, why they all of a sudden pop up and all of a sudden go away. It seems that most people find what works for them and deal with it. I'm not coping so well with it right now. My last bout Tuesday left me feeling like I was in a boxing match or got ran over with a truck. Can't sleep, everything including my head hurts. I am trying to research as much as I can and trying to find a migraine specialist. I wish you well and hope your migraines go away or you find something that works for you. Good luck.

    1. Hello,
How incredibly frustrating and awful for you! Can I ask if they gave run any scans? The reason I ask is because my migraine turned out to be something more serious (a blood clot) which shared a lot of symptoms with the migraine.
Hope everything works out for you soon 😀

      1. That is really scary. I do hope they are able to help you and eliminate the blood clot and your pain. The MRI results were negative, I am due to go back for another with contrast. I am also going in for a sonagram of my thyroid and neck. My search continues. I wish you all the best.
