Food journal app

Hello. I am new to the forum but have been on migraine.com for some time. I am hoping that there are some thoughts or even suggestions here for good cellphone apps to track your daily diet and nutrition. I'd like to use the cellphone because I know I would be delinquent if I have to take the time to go to my laptop or pc and I have little patience using mobile versions of websites.

To be clear I am looking for an app that allows for tracking my daily diet to track for potential triggers as well as nutrition and cholesterol - not one that focuses on weight loss (that is NOT to say I couldn't benefit from some weight loss). I have a decent handle on my food triggers but I'd like to track for anything I might be blind to without being hypervigilant, as well as inadvertent exposures. Additionally, although I believe I have a very healthy diet I am quite low in vitamin D and my LDL cholesterol has shot up by 100 points over the last several years. I'd like to be able to have documentation instead of referring to my cloudy memory when I'm asked for my habits and history. While it would be wonderful to have a migraine app that also encompasses diet/nutrition tracking I haven't found one if it exists and will use a separate migraine app. Does anyone know of any decent nutrition/daily intake tracker apps? Thank you in advance. Liz

  1. Hi Liz,

Thank you for your question. I haven't used a migraine app in some time - which I should start up again. I've used Curelator, iHeadache, and the MigraineMeter. We do have other members views on apps here; https://migraine.com/blog/using-digital-journals/comment-page-1/#comments.

Hopefully others will be along shortly to lend a hand.

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question Nancy. There are some very interesting options in your list as well as the others and I will definitely take the time to review them.
