Has anyone had this experience?

I was diagnosed with chronic migraine two years ago. I finally got in to see a neurologist this past November and it is the neurology department's policy to not sign disability paperwork for my university so that I'll "keep living my life." I shrugged and dealt with it because he adjusted my medications and I saw positive change in spite of being bad at taking my intervention medication early. But in the past two weeks or so I have had almost daily migraines. I'm wondering if any of you had neurologists not sign off on disability paperwork? If so, what did you do? My neuro is really nice and I like him, but I can't miss class without fear of grade deductions.

  1. This is difficult to advise. In my opinion, disability is the last option. If you can find any way
to go on with your life, do it.
I have a multitude of health problems, including migraine. I fought to the bitter end to hold
on to my job. I can't begin to tell you what I had to go through. But, finally, I just literally could
not stand and get through one day of work anymore.
Now I'm on disability. It's the pits. I don't know how much longer I can keep a roof over my
head. Consult everyone you can trust and be completely sure there's no other way before
you decide to file for disability. Best Wishes!

    1. Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope you will recover soon. Take care.
