Headache/Migraine Type/Cause

Hello, I am in the midst of a lengthy wait for a neurologist and I am desperate for relief. I have these headaches/migraines that started with just dizziness and facial pain almost a year ago. I first thought it was a sinus problem but CT scans showed they were fine. Now the pain/pressure moves all around. The main focus is on the right size of my nose/eye/forehead area but the pressure can move around my face and head. Often if I apply pressure the pain will dissipate but only momentarily. I have also had stomach problems and I noticed when my stomach issues are bad and I am fatigued the pressure is gone or minimal. Now I am on medication for my stomach which has been great but I have had a migraine/headache since it started (8 days). Any thoughts on what type of headache this is and what I could do about it.

  1. VThinterland, thank you for reaching out! I hear how much you have been enduring with migraine. Has the pain eased for you at all? Lengthy waits for neurology appointments can feel so frustrating! We cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your safety!), but this article provides information and links to further detail on a variety of different migraine types that might be of interest to you: https://migraine.com/migraine-types/ You can also access descriptions of different migraine types from the drop-down menu at the top left of the site page, under "basics." While it is a more common migraine presentation in children than adults, stomach pain can also be a migraine symptom, so I would encourage you to mention your stomach issues to your neurologist when you meet. Please check back and let us know what you learn after your appointment! Wishing you a gentle day. ~Allyson (Migraine.com team)
