Hi Seattlerain,
Thank you for your question and being part of our discussion forum - we're glad you're here!
Hot and/or cold can be used to ease pain, but unfortunately won't stop a migraine attack. Most people with migraine seem to like cold as a comfort measures. I on the other hand can't tolerate cold, but love heat.
The Ice Kap seems to be very popular too. Here is the link for it; https://www.icekap.ca/. I've heard nothing but good things about this produce, however I'm not endorsing it.
I hope that helps!

You posted this awhile back, but I just saw it and had to post that I found this Headache Hat and I love it. I wear it around the house sometimes but it;s also great for days you can't get out of bed. It provides some compression if you want it (velcro so you make it as tight or loose as you want) I use cold for comfort on my head. Abortives don't work for me so ice is all I have. My doctor cautioned me against using cold for longer than 15 minutes at a time, and a couple of doctors told me to stop using heat because it's a vasodilator and could make them worse. I sometimes use heat on my neck and shoulders to relax the muscles that get so tight when the headache/migraine is so bad.
Thank you for sharing that with us. I'm so happy you've found something to help. I, on the other hand, am unable to use cold. It's heat all the way for me!!
