I found my trigger by accident

So long story short I have had migraines on and off since i was 14. They were absolutely soul destroying but not chronic. I would say I get them for a week every 4 months. Ended up in hospital a few times throwing up and dehydrated. So last year I went in to get a tooth surgery (removal of my baby teeth) that had pretty much gone down to nothing. What I did not know is that the tooth cavity must have had a long standing infection. I went in to get a bone grafting and removal of the front bottom teeth. And for about a year and a half I have not had a single migraine! Knock wood. As a man it's less common for us to get them and I had no idea what caused it, weather change, diet, who knows. Just thought I would share my experience.

  1. I'm glad to hear that you got a cure! I wish that mine were so simple. I do not that mine were relieved when I got long overdue dental work, but that's all done now.

    1. Hi PeterMarwood,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I wanted to gently remind you there is currently no "cure" for migraine attacks. If we are able to identify and manage our triggers, we may be able to reduce migraine attack frequency and severity.

Looking forward to hearing more from you,
      Nancy

  2. Hi beachba,

Thank you for sharing that with us. Dental issues can absolutely trigger migraine attacks. Good to hear you've resolved that! I hope you continue to experience fewer attacks.

    Nancy
