Insurance and Medications

  • By Nancy Meller

I was recently told the migraine medication I have been taking is no longer approved by my insurance company
and they want me to use something else. I have been using this same medication for a long time and it is the one that works the best to get rid of my headaches. All of a sudden they won’t approve it and the pharmacy told me it was $500 to pay for it. Has anyone else had to deal with this issue?

Here are a few links to some articles that discuss insurance coverage, limits, and various steps to take if medication is denied coverage.

And finally, you may find this article helpful as well, which identifies how to treat your migraine attacks without insurance –
