Insurance and Medications

I was recently told the migraine medication I have been taking is no longer approved by my insurance company
and they want me to use something else. I have been using this same medication for a long time and it is the one that works the best to get rid of my headaches. All of a sudden they won't approve it and the pharmacy told me it was $500 to pay for it. Has anyone else had to deal with this issue?

  1. Hi Nancy,

Thank you for your post. I am sorry to hear that your insurance has stopped covering the medication that was working so well for you. That must be so frustrating! Here are a few links to some articles that discuss insurance coverage, limits, and various steps to take if medication is denied coverage.
