Is there something really wrong?

I'm wondering if how many people are dealing with trying to figure out if there is some underlying cause for their migraines. I have been seeing doctors and getting tests. I'm starting to think I'm just making myself more crazy. They found lesions on my MRI that scared the heck out of me but the neurologist said they are just from migraines. Like that is totally normal. Then my MRA showed a tiny 1mm possable aneurysm but the Dr said that is nothing to worry about and is to small to possably be causing any headaches. I thought my migraines were all caused from food triggers but I have eliminated almost every food group from my diet and it hasn't made a difference. I don't know , just feeling frustrated and sick of being sick all the time.

  1. Hi,

I am new here and seeking answers as well. I believe that my migraines are the result of a concussion I had over ten years ago, since right afterwards is when they started.

I just wanted to say that I understand your frustration. I have run into the same kind of indifference from doctors, who really do not seem to care as it is "only migraines".

I have also tried eliminating foods known to be triggers, to no avail. I think that, for some of us, this is something that we have to live with. It can be incredibly isolating and disheartening, but at least there is a place such as this where we can share our stories.

    Take care. <3

    1. It seems so amazing to me that so many people have them and they are so extreme but there is no reason for them. I have keep track if it was the weather change, stressful events, no sleep, to much sleep, etc. I can't find any pattern. Something I read once is the closest thing to making sense to me was it said that migraine sufferers have super sensitive brains and anything can trigger a migraine. I'm so sick of wasting days to feeling like crap. I stay at work or keep doing what I'm doing the most I can but the extreme weakness makes me moving and working everything at half speed.

      1. Ditto. Ditto. Ditto! To each of you three!! Frustrating.

        1. Well, I can tell you that I had a lot of visual auras so I got checked by an optometrist and they found out I had papillademiae (pressure from my brain cause my optic nerves to be swollen) so we did a series of tests starting with a blind spot test, then an MRI, which determined I didn't have a brain tumor that was causing the problem, then they did a diagnostic spinal tap which determined I had a LOT of pressure in the fluids in my head and spine. From there my doctor diagnosed me with psuedotumor cerebri. So it's definitely something to get checked for, but it's a fairly rare disorder. I'm working with a neurologist who is pretty much worth less but at least I'm no longer going blind. So if you do seem to have a lot of visual symptoms it's definitely something to get tested for by an optometrist.
