Is this a migraine

hi I'm new to this but I have just been diagnosed with chronic migraine
I've had 2 MRI scans and a lumber puncture. They came back clear All because they wanted to make sure I did not have MS. My symptoms still are after 3 weeks extreme fatigue (normally very healthy and fit). Numbness in the face. Visual loss in one eye. Sensation of a million ants crawling all over my spine left arm and limbs. Especially In the evening restless legs. Before the lumber puncture I did not get painful headaches. Just pressure/numbness. Is this migraines.

  1. Hi gke928,

Welcome to the discussion forum and thank you so much for your question. Let me see what I can do to help.

As much as I'd like to be able to tell you whether or not you have migraine, only a qualified doctor can do that. It's not safe to diagnose online. However, I can tell you that migraine is a diagnosis of exclusion. This means after your doctor gives you a full neurological exam, goes over your symptoms, and discusses your medical history and your family's medical history he can then arrive at a diagnosis. At this time there are no test, image studies or blood tests that can diagnose migraine.

Some migraine symptoms can include face and leg numbness and tingling, visual disturbances and many other things. We can feel fatigue before, during and after an attack, that's for sure. Let me share with you information on migraine that may help; https://migraine.com/what-is-migraine/.

Good luck and let us know how you are feeling,
    Nancy
