Isometheptene - Midrin

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone has ever tried Isometheptene-Caffeine-Acetaminophen. It is similar to Midrin, but not exactly the same. My neurologist prescribed it as an abortive, and it works so well, I wish I could use it every day.

Has anyone tried it? If so, what has been your experience - good or bad?

Thank you!

  1. Hi charmmy,

I have not tried that abortive myself, but I am so glad it helps you! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Hopefully there will be some feedback from those who have tried it soon.

I understand your struggle with being tempted to use the abortive more frequently. It can be such a balance to ensure we don't develop medication overuse headache. Here is some good information on that:

    Best wishes,

    1. Thank you Gemma!!

I just found out the name of that rx is PRODRIN, though I can't find much on the web about it.

      Best wishes to you!

      1. I currently take it as my abortive. It's so expensive so I only take it for the migraines that I rate at 6 and above. It works well for me right now.
