Ketorolac

Is it true that you can only get Ketorolac through a neurologist now?

  1. HI mintwolf,

Thank you for your question and being here with us!

Ketorolac is a non-steroidal anti-Inflammatory drug (NSAID) that treats pain and can be prescribed by a doctor.

    1. That's what I thought. I have been taking Ketorolac for my migraines for quite a while now. I only take a 10mg tablet when OTC products, such as Tylenol or Advil don't work. I don't take them very often, and 20 can last me for months. I just moved to a very remote area, where I would have to travel 40 miles to get a shot, should a migraine occur, and I have nothing to take for them. When they get that bad, I cannot, or should not drive anywhere at that point. I cannot take imitrex, and this seems to be the only thing that works for me in an emergency situation. The local PA ( which is all we have here ), will not give me a refill on this med. I was told I needed to make an appointment with a neurologist to get it. I think that is ridiculous given my situation. Looks like I will have to find a Dr. out of the area?

      1. You might, mintwolf. Let me give you a list of doctors who are board certified in headache medicine, I hope there is on close to you; http://www.ucns.org/globals/axon/assets/12423.pdf.

        Keep me posted!
