Pizotifen

as any of you taken this drug for your migraines?
What side effects have you experienced?

    I've never taken pizotifen, brand name Sandomigran, as it's not available in the United States. Maybe others will be along shortly from the UK and share their experiences with you.

      I have not tried pizotifen myself. However, I am based in the UK and it is used for Migraine prevention here, especially for children.

      Pizotifen is an antihistamine and a serotonin-receptor blocker, structurally related to the tricyclic antidepressants (e.g. amitriptyline, nortriptyline). Possible side effects include increased appetite, weight gain and drowsiness, but not everyone will experience side effects.
