Sever Head Pain- New symptoms- need help

So I have had migraines in the past where I have them for a span of a week and then they go away for 9+ months. The type of migraines are the halo, blurred vision, nausea type of migraine.
Lately, I have been having severe head pain in the late evening and even waking me out of sleep. Last night, I woke up at 1:00 am and could not go back to sleep until 4:00 because the pain was too much. This has happened 4-5 times in the past week.
Specifics:
Sharp Pain on left temple and eye
Large artery swelling on left side
Blood shot eyes
Left sinus pressure as well

The only this I can associate this with is that I recently moved to a new house a few weeks ago and have been working it a lot. As mentioned, I have had migraines in the past, but this type of headache is a 9 where my worse migraine in the past was a 6 and the symptoms are different.
I’m also thinking about getting my hvac ducts cleaned out too to help…..

  1. Hi jwdg12,

I'm sorry to hear you are having an upswing in your migraine frequency, which is very frustrating.

It's important to contact our doctor when we have a change in our migraine patterns, frequency and/or severity so he can rule out anything serious.

When our overly sensitive brains encounter certain stimuli, or triggers, a migraine attack may occur. It may be that these migraines are triggered due to skipping meals, becoming dehydrated, interrupted sleep schedules and many others. If we are in a particularly stressful period, it may not be the actual stress that is triggering these migraines, rather the things we do or don't do during these times. Does that make sense? Let me share information with you on triggers and stress; https://migraine.com/blog/migraine-management-essential-trigger-management/ and https://migraine.com/blog/your-worst-migraine-triggers-stress-really/.

Keep us posted on how you are feeling.

    Nancy
