Diagnosis of Migraine & Headache Types

Sinus Migraine

  • By Ellen Schnakenberg

sreenivas – I wish there was one good answer for you, but there isn’t. Migraine is very specific to specific people, and what works for one person will not work for another.

Migraine can be triggered by sinus infection, but also by the surgery. Typically septoplasty doesn’t help Migraine. I’m not familiar with the FESS surgery.

Steroids are anti-inflammatory and often are helpful to Migraineurs. However, staying on steroids for a long period of time isn’t practical. I can’t comment too much on your experience with allergy meds, but in helping your sinus condition you may be removing a Migraine trigger.

It is also possible that Migraine – if it is accompanied by autonomic sinus drainage – may be complicating your sinus infection as well.

My best advice is for you to see a Migraine specialist who can best advise you on your choices, and a second opinion on your ENT choices. https://migraine.com/blog/looking-for-a-migraine-specialist/
