Sudden Change in Migraines

I have had migraines all my life, I inherited this terrible disease. I have always had my migraines on one side of my head or the other, recently I hare also started having migraines across my forehead. Initially I didn't think they were migraines. I asked my neurologist and he told me they were. He gave me Elavil (another pill to take), he said it's due to the fact that I can't sleep at night.

Has anyone else encountered this, and if so what was your solution?

  1. Hi Karen Curry,

Thank you for sharing that with us. I am sorry to hear you've noticed a change in your migraine attack pattern. You did exactly what we suggest any time we have new and/or different symptoms - talk to the doctor.

It's not uncommon for our migraine patterns and/or triggers to change over time, I know mine have. Irregular sleep schedules can certainly trigger a migraine attack so it's important for us (those with migraine disease) to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, even on the weekends. Let me share some of our articles on tips and tricks for getting a good nights sleep; https://migraine.com/blog/migraine-triggers-sleep-1/

Others should be along shortly to share their experiences with you!

    I hope this helps,
