Tips for Bride-to-be?

Hi Everyone,

I am getting married in September and so stressed about the possibility of a migraine on the big day! I currently take Topamax every night as a preventative as well as Imitrex rescue meds if I need them. I am trying to tell myself to relax because stress certainly will not help the situation, but I live in fear of migraines whenever there is a big event coming up!

Also, any tips for the Bachelorette? I know my girls have something special planned and I am not sure what exactly it is but I can guarantee there are drinks involved. I know to drink plenty of water, stick to one kind of liquor, etc. (luckily we're all in our 30's so we won't be too crazy 😉) I don't really drink much though because I have a hard time identifying my migraine triggers. I am still feeling a little bit like migraines for me are a game of roulette, sometimes I can have a few cocktails and be fine, the next time it may take me two days to recover.

Help!

  1. Hi EMK32,

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! This is an exciting time, enjoy this special time.

You are right, migraine can sometimes feel like roulette - sometimes we are in the clear, and other times not so much. Watching your triggers, making good lifestyle choices and keeping stress in check is always helpful.

It sounds like you are on the right path, good luck,
    Nancy
