Weird pain bouts

I admit I thankfully don't have migraines as bad as many of you. Lately, I have been just getting auras without a headache. I don't feel good after an aura but no headache. I do get these occasional bouts that come out of nowhere, last about as long as an aura (10-20mins). I get a pain in my lower jaw that is very unpleasant (not an ache)-sometimes it goes up into my ears. I usually have pain in my chest also. (I am aware that lower jaw pain/chest pain can indicate heart problems). It comes on strong and just stops after about 10-20 mins. No shortness of breath. (BTW I am seeing a cardiologist Jan 27 just to be sure). I think this is migraine related. Anyone else have similar symptoms with their migraines?

  1. Hi Elsie,

Thank you for posting your question, let me see what I can do to help.

I'm happy to hear you are being checked out by your cardiologist - just in case. It's always a good idea to discuss any new and/or different symptoms with our doctor so he can rule out anything more serious.

I occasionally will have jaw pain and ear pain with my migraine attacks. The trigeminal nerve that runs along our jaw line is involved with our migraine attacks, scientists aren't sure exactly why, but it's not uncommon to have pain in the areas you mentioned. Please let us know how you make out at the doctor,
    Nancy
