What could all my symptoms really be!?

Hi all I've just signed up as I'm so fed up now that I hope someone can maybe relate to my symptoms, first off about 3 months ago I noticed my vision wasn't as good I saw my optician and he confirmed I was short sighted but not much, shortly after I began getting headaches daily and then my vision worsen again quickly, within this time I've had two new prescriptions for glasses, the headaches are always there but the past week they've worsened, my eyesight is worse and I feel faint, dizzy and my left eye and forehead feels kind of numb. I saw a neurologist today, he barely examined me just prescribed some antidepressants for the pain and has referred me to have an eye exam, I'm told it stress related but this is causing stress not the other way around. What could this be.

  1. Hi sarah01,

Welcome to the Migraine.com discussion forum - we're glad you found us!

I wish I could tell you exactly what's going on, but only a qualified doctor can do that. Vision issues can trigger and be a symptom of a migraine attack. Seeing an ophthalmologist is a great idea to make sure your eyes check out OK.

I'm sorry the neurologist you saw wasn't real helpful. Stress can trigger a migraine attack, but is not the cause of migraine disease. I wonder if it would be worthwhile to see a real expert who treat migraine and headache disorders? These expert doctors may be different from neurologists in that they are board certified in headache medicine, which is different than being certified in neurology. These articles have information on how these doctors are different and how to find one; http://migraine.com/blog/how-are-migraine-specialists-different/ and

Please keep me posted on how you are feeling,
