I’ve had migraines for 5 years (21 now) and doctors have never known what’s wrong. I’ve had different neurologists that I feel like just throw different medications at me that give me terrible side effects and leave me drowsy all day. My neurologist recently retired but I was getting a lot better just being less stressed out and trying to live a healthier lifestyle. Yesterday morning though I woke up with a terrible migraine, I can’t handle light or sound, I feel like vomiting every time I stand up, my vision is blurry. I had my friend drive me to my primary dr where she just gave me naproxen and zofran (I told her that naproxen doesn’t work for me once my migraine is bad but she didn’t listen) but that didn’t help and so later I went to urgent care because I couldn’t handle my head and they gave me a toradol which didn’t help either and she also gave me muscle relaxers.
I took them at night as instructed and still didn’t get much sleep. I called my primary doctor again and told them that what I got didn’t help.
Does anyone else not get relief by these after their migraine is there? They look at me like I’m crazy and making it up. Why would I make up how much pain I’m in?
They told me if the pain is unbearable just go to the ER or urgent care again but I feel like the ER just gives you the migraine cocktail until you’re passed out then they let you go. I feel so frustrated because I feel like no one will listen to my problems because they don’t see anything in blood work or ct scans.
How do I make someone listen to me? I’m just so frustrated and going on 48 hours with this migraine. All I can do is sleep. What am I supposed to do when no one cares about my migraines?
