Work and migraines

My migraines interfere with my ''work''. When I have a migraine I can't go to work hence i won't get paid. Has anyone found a way to work around this....like work at home jobs. I'm searching for other means to make a living from home.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

  1. HI pennych,

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having a difficult time with work and migraine attacks - I know how frustrating that can be.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile to do some migraine trigger investigating. Migraine triggers can include certain foods, dehydration, not enough or too much sleep, fluctuating hormones, changes in the barometric pressure, lighting, odors, and many other things. If we are able to reduce some of our migraine triggers, we may be able to reduce migraine attack frequency and severity. Keeping a detailed migraine diary for a few months can be helpful in doing this. Here is more information on trigger identification; https://migraine.com/migraine-triggers/ and https://migraine.com/living-migraine/community-feedback-daily-life-triggers/ and https://migraine.com/blog/migraine-causes-migraine-triggers/.

Lighting in the work place can be a strong migraine trigger for some of us and wearing glasses (indoor and outdoor) that are specifically designed to help with this may provide relief.
