Migraines and foods

I believe food is a major contributor to the migraines. I know msg definitely is.
My daughter was having a lot of anxiety issues, emotional rollercoaster, headaches, and overweight. She went vegan for 2 yrs with NO health issues and lost a lot of weight. Felt better than she ever had.
She went away from vegan and her weight came back on, migraines and anxiety is back.

  1. Hi - thanks so much for posting this topic. It's something that we frequently discuss here at Migraine.com. Have you found that you personally have any food sensitivities? After attempting an elimination diet for gluten, I discovered I am gluten-sensitive. I thought for the longest time it was normal to experience bloating, cramps, and pain after eating. Now that I've eliminated nearly all gluten, life feels so much easier! Curious to hear what's been working for you. - Cody (Team Member)

    1. Yes- it is in most processed meats. Boar's Head meats are known for no MSG for those looking. Warmly - Holly (team member)

    2. thanks on notation about Boars Head. My local grocery store carries it.

  2. that's an interesting connection that you've been able to make. I too have found a strong connection between food and migraine. Here are two articles about elimination diets that you might find helpful.

    1. I will check it out. Thanks!

      1. For me, MSG isn't a problem, but soy is. Biggest problem is anything cured or fermented, though.
